Many people, on account of their lifestyle, have embraced the idea that freedom is dull, monotonous, and unfulfilling. The masses have convinced themselves that it is better to be in bondage and have access to connection, life’s amenities and high-status artifacts, than to be free. Well-meaning people have grown accustomed to accept pathology and dysfunction as normal.

Anytime you have the masses so mesmerized by the promise of living the American dream that they are willing to accept debt as normal—they are willing to live as slaves to powerful lending institutions—you had better be mindful. The soul-destroying journey of being mentally shackled and physically burdened by debt has left the destinies of millions in utter ruin.

We are in a national state of denial and have resorted to wishful and fanciful thinking about debt as a wealth-building instrument and the only means by which one can enjoy the finer things in life. Unfortunately, the only winners of this twisted reality are those who have created a process and system of dependence to collect payments from borrowers. But debt is only one part of the problem.

This episode is about the necessity of escaping and avoiding the stranglehold of debt and dysfunctional relationships. We journey into mindfulness—to get in touch with our higher essence—a place defined by peacefulness, aliveness, awareness, happiness and abundance.

Takeaways to Keep in Mind

  • Debt creates enough risk to offset any possible advantage.
  • Successful relationships are built on complimenting each other’s completeness.
  • Worthy long-term goals always outweigh temporary pleasure and satisfaction.
