Take Control of Your Message

I amThe more I learn, the more I experience in life, the more I realize the necessity and value of being true to myself. Being true to myself grows out of self-belief, self-worth, and self-love, which means knowing my potential and abilities, not allowing myself to think negatively, and not allowing anyone to put me down.

Taking control of your message begins by knowing what you are, what you stand for, and what you believe in. If you do not take control of your message, then you are empowering others to create an unauthentic image and narrative of you. When you allow others to control your message, you are validating their erroneous assumptions about you and allowing them to determine the value of your life and the outcomes you experience.

Yes, the way you think and act might challenge those around you. So what? If other people have a problem with who you are – too bad! That is their problem, not yours.

Continually harness the power within and imprint your essence on the world’s consciousness. Begin each day by taking control of your message. Be your own inspiration. Be powerful!

  1. As I become older, I’m seeing the change in the woman I am becoming. I’m taking responsibility for my actions and taking a better demand of my life. I used to believe and what the negative people thoughts about me and it affected the image I had of myself. I thought I belonged in the box they put me in but I realized if I kept that mindset I be at the same place they are, which is nowhere. One of my favorite rapper says, “Know yourself, know your worth.” As human beings, we are brands and we should understand our self-value and what we’re capable of to become better and succeed in life. Personally, I’ve looked up to others for motivation but didn’t realize I had to self-motivate to progress. When people stop thinking of other’s opinions, and actually step out of their comfort zone, they’ll go down a productive path. This results in more success and less belief in naysayers’ opinions. I think when it comes to our future affirmative action should be taken and when it comes to others thoughts, it should be used only when asked.
